We are looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our team in London on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. As a Payroll Analyst, the successful candidate will oversee and ensure the accurate processing of all UK payroll related issues, ensuring that employees receive correct remuneration on the published pay dates and that the company meets its contractual obligations. The postholder will also manage the day‑to‑day workload of assigned payroll in accordance with set timelines, ensuring accurate delivery, and will be responsible for internal and external stakeholder management, including managing our payroll provider to ensure smooth operations at all times.

What You Will Do
- Support the Payroll Manager in the effective running of the UK payroll.
- Act as an escalation point for the Payroll Specialists in the UK payroll team that forms part of the centralised payroll HUB for the EMEA region.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for SAP issues and new requests across the UK payroll entities.
- Process UK SAP payroll ensuring that employees receive accurate remuneration on the published pay dates.
- Coordinate with Payroll Specialists to ensure all SAP payroll inputs are loaded prior to payroll processing.
- Ensure that payroll activity is properly posted into SAP GL and that post‑payroll activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Escalate all SAP‑based queries/issues to the SAP partner, raise management requests, and complete required testing.
- Finalize and produce BACS on all UK monthly payrolls at post‑exit stage.
- Approve monthly, quarterly, annual, and other periodic reports to management, local authorities, and other recipients.
- Resolve all assigned payroll‑related queries from employees and legal entity stakeholders in a professional and timely manner, or appropriately escalated.
- Perform manual calculations for part‑month and back‑dated payments where necessary.
- Calculate and pay statutory payments for SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP in line with HMRC regulations and company policy.
- Calculate and check manual payments where appropriate, ensuring that the payment is correctly accounted for.
- Analyze variance reports, providing reasons for all variances above the set material limit.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experienced payroll professional with thorough payroll journal understanding and knowledge of how it feeds into financials.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation.
- Experience with internal or external audits desirable.
- Proven experience from within an in‑house payroll environment.
- General understanding of Workday desirable.
- Ability to build solid relationships with stakeholders and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a fast‑paced environment with excellent time‑management and prioritisation skills.
- High attention to detail with good analytical and numeracy skills.

- Part payroll qualification preferred but not essential, with a desire to further a career in payroll.
