What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure web applications that deliver complex solutions securely and reliably across multiple platforms.
- Work closely with stakeholders, bringing technical excellence, creative problem‑solving, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate high standards, attention to detail, and a forward‑thinking mindset to shape coding best practices, modern coding standards, and support our long‑term journey toward a fully cloud‑ready architecture.
- Deliver components of the cloud migration, contributing to the transition of legacy on‑premises solutions to Azure in line with agreed architecture and cloud‑native standards, while supporting stable releases and minimal disruption.
- Develop and maintain complex web solutions using ASP.NET MVC5, C#, and React, delivering high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Support the migration to new technologies, ensuring clean architecture, scalable design, and efficient implementation delivered smoothly and seamlessly.
- Apply SOLID principles, object‑oriented design, and industry best practices to build secure, performant, and fault‑tolerant systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Digital Product, Technology, Marketing) to define, estimate, and deliver features on time and to specification.
- Participate in architectural discussions, proposing innovative improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop front‑end interfaces using modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React) to ensure engaging and responsive user experiences.
- Integrate APIs and third‑party services, ensuring robust, efficient connectivity with external systems and platforms.
- Manage source control, branching, and deployments using GitLab or Azure DevOps pipelines, ensuring seamless delivery across environments.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior and mid‑level developers, and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments, maintaining high levels of system stability.
- Support smooth and stable release cycles across multiple websites and environments.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to continuously enhance team capability and product quality.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications Required
- Hands‑on experience with Azure ecosystem, specifically in architecting and deploying Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and managing cloud infrastructure including Virtual Networks (VNet), API Management (APIM), and Azure Storage solutions.
- Minimum 8 years of digital development experience with a strong portfolio in bespoke eCommerce and enterprise web applications.
- Proven experience in migrating legacy systems to Azure, with a deep understanding of cloud design patterns, resource optimization, and leading large‑scale infrastructure transformation projects.
- Proven expertise on C#, ASP.NET MVC5, SQL Server, Entity Framework, and desirable to have HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and React experience.
- Strong knowledge of Object‑Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, and common design patterns.
- Experienced in RESTful API design and integration; experience with SOAP WebServices and XML/XPath.
- Skilled in using IoC containers (Autofac, Ninject) and unit testing frameworks (NUnit, Moq, SpecFlow).
- Proficient with source control management tools and processes (Git, GitFlow, SourceTree) and dependency management using NuGet.
- Experienced with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines using GitLab, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Cake, or Octopus.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and issue tracking tools such as Jira.
- Proven track record of delivering features and projects to deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
- Understanding of application and database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimisation techniques.
- Comfortable working in small, collaborative teams and taking initiative in managing development tools, environments, and build processes.
- Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., SDL Tridion).
