Our Yard Operations Skilled Operative will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that the site complies with all legal and contractual requirements, actively promoting health & safety and Food Safety, and immediately halting any unsafe working practices with appropriate corrective actions.
- Demonstrating good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Carrying out required functions correctly and effectively in any area of the factory once trained.
- Completing daily pre-start checks on chilled blood and viscera skids on time, reporting issues to the production supervisor and site team.
- Maintaining cleanliness and correct filling of bulkers and tankers.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of chilled blood and viscera skids and surrounding areas.
- Loading chilled blood and viscera products onto tankers correctly, liaising with third-party tanker drivers to follow proper procedures.
- Assisting with the loading of export orders, ensuring product specifications are met, and documentation is correctly completed.
- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and presentation during working hours.
- Producing each product to specification.
- Acting in the best interests of 2SFG, its employees, brands, customers, and consumers, fostering a culture of food safety and continuous improvement.
- Performing any other duties necessary for the effective operation of the factory and unit.
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to communicate in English.
- Have basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Possess good hand/eye coordination.
- Be able to work to tight deadlines.
- Hold Food Safety Level 2 and H&S Level 2 certifications.
- Possess an FLT license or be willing to train for one.
- Have experience with GMP and SOPs.
- Have experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
Salary: £14.08 per hour.
