About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager to join our poultry manufacturing site in Willand. Reporting into the Head of Technical, this role is critical to maintaining hygiene standards across a large, multi-retailer operation. You will lead the Hygiene function and manage a team of over 100 hygiene operatives, with direct reports including a Night Hygiene Manager and a Hygiene Team Leader. This is a hands-on leadership role within a busy slaughterhouse environment and requires strong people management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and closing out investigation reports, including swab failures
- Leading the development and training of the hygiene team
- Completing and closing out hygiene audits
- Driving continuous improvement across hygiene processes and standards
- Working flexibly across shifts, including occasional later working to support handovers and engagement with the Night Hygiene Manager
About You
You will be an experienced Hygiene Manager who is comfortable working in a slaughterhouse and poultry environment. You'll be confident leading large teams, working within short shelf-life operations, and operating in a BRC-audited site.
