Are you an experienced meat process operative with experience in butchery and an eye for detail? Then look no further, 2 Sisters Food Group in Scunthorpe have the opportunity for you. We are looking for a Butchery Assessor to join our busy, world-class Cutting team.

The purpose of the role is to assess the performance and capability of all employees working on the filleting lines within the butchery department. Collating assessment information within the butchery department for management review, to ensure relevant action is taken to maintain and improve butchery standards within the department.

Main Responsibilities

As a Butchery Assessor with 2 Sisters Food Group, you ensure the highest standards are maintained, whilst ensuring strict adherence to H&S and Food Hygiene Standards. You’ll be expected to:

  • Assess butchers working within the department to understand current performance and capability against set competency matrix.
  • Review information from the competency assessments and effectively communicate with the butchery management on the results, feeding back results to employees.
  • Maintain assessment logs ensuring all information is completed, correct and up to date.
  • Support and maintain the butchery performance management system working with HR and agency to ensure that employee information is current.
  • Follow set standard operating procedures.
  • Be a part of the team.

This post is working a 2-week rotating shift pattern:

  • WEEK 1 - Monday to Saturday; 06:00-14:30
  • WEEK 2 – Monday to Friday; 14:30-23:00

The rate of pay is £14.00 per hour (£16.80ph Sat).

  • Cutting - involves the butchery of the bird into set portions, such as breast meat, wings and thigh fillets, which will then be packed into the appropriate size packaging. Some cutting is completed by machines, some by hand.
  • Whole Bird - involves dealing with the unportioned birds, seasoning, trussing and packing the whole chicken.
