Overview
The key responsibilities of the role are to oversee the welfare of poultry from arrival at the site through to kill, ensuring that all legislative industry standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Check all livestock on arrival and through processing, and provide feedback to the Technical Manager & Factory Manager.
- Communicate with regulatory officials.
- Complete all records and paperwork for welfare checks and other checks in line with duties.
- Carry out temperature/humidity checks and gas readings on the easy load.
- Log loads on breakdowns and perform startup checks to ensure all live bird areas meet hygiene and safety standards.
- Investigate Dead on Arrival incidents, identify causes and suggest improvements.
- Ensure all daily/weekly animal welfare documentation is fully completed.
