About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hygiene Manager to lead our hygiene team at our Gunstone's Bakery site, known for producing premium bakery products such as bread rolls and hot cross buns for high-profile retail partners. You will oversee hygiene operations across our 24/7 production facility, managing a team of approximately 30 individuals, including 4 team leaders. This is an essential role for ensuring the highest hygiene standards are met and maintained within our production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee internal and external hygiene, waste management, and contractor management
- Take responsibility for pest control, budget management for subcontractors, and supervising internal hygiene shifts
- Set and implement company policies and standards for hygiene and plant operations
- Regularly audit and inspect facilities to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
- Deliver training to both hygiene and technical teams to enhance skills and compliance
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with hygiene/service contractors, chemical suppliers, and pest control vendors
About You
We are looking for an individual with significant experience in hygiene management within the food manufacturing industry. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership skills and a clear understanding of food safety and hygiene standards are essential, alongside a collaborative approach to working with both internal and external stakeholders.
