As Hygiene Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing hygiene teams across four shifts, covering both day and night operations. You’ll ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and compliance are consistently met throughout the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and coordinate hygiene teams across multi-shift operations.
- Ensure all hygiene documentation, procedures, and codes of practice are up to date and fully compliant.
- Manage and maintain standards in line with Gateway practices and work collaboratively with Kersia, our chemical supplier, including supporting chemical audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee pest control processes and maintain effective communication with our external provider Ecolab; familiarity with the Ecolab portal is highly advantageous.
- Work closely with the Head of Technical to support site technical standards, resolve issues, and drive improvements.
- Play an active role in customer, internal, and third-party audits, including taking ownership of relevant sections during BRC audits.
- Maintain a strong presence on the factory floor, ensuring hygiene operations are practical, effective, and aligned with production needs.
About You
- Has experience in a Hygiene Manager or senior hygiene role within food manufacturing.
- Is confident leading multi-shift teams in a high-care or high-risk environment.
- Is hands-on, operationally aware, and able to balance strategic oversight with floor-level engagement.
- Understands hygiene chemical systems, supplier partnerships, and audit requirements.
- Has working knowledge of pest control systems and external provider management.
- Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
