About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and driven Site Technical Manager to lead the technical function at our high-care, high-risk soups and sauces manufacturing site. You'll be accountable for delivering site KPIs, maintaining compliance with BRC and retailer standards, and providing strong leadership to both technical and hygiene teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site technical team, ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Act as the site's technical authority, representing the business during customer and third-party audits
- Drive performance and compliance through robust BRC and retailer audit standards, with specific focus on M&S, Tesco, or Sainsbury's expectations
- Oversee hygiene and process functions, ensuring structures, systems, and training are fit for purpose
- Contribute to site strategy and performance as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance, efficiency, and food safety culture
About You
You'll be a confident, hands-on technical leader with the credibility and experience to operate at SLT level. You understand what good looks like in a high-care, high-risk manufacturing setting and can confidently lead technical teams and audits. You're commercially aware, detail-oriented, and thrive in an environment where continuous improvement and collaboration drive results. Key Skills and Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in a senior technical role within food manufacturing (soups, sauces, ingredients, or dairy preferred)
- Demonstrable success managing technical, hygiene, and process teams in a high-care, high-risk environment
- Strong understanding and practical experience of BRC standards and UK retailer audits
- HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 certified
- Knowledge of CIP systems (Camden or Persia systems preferred)
- Confident leading customer and third-party audits with authority
