About Us

Join 2 Sisters Food Group, one of the UK's largest food manufacturers, with an annual turnover exceeding £3 billion and approximately 13,000 employees across multiple sites. We have a strong presence in poultry, chilled, and bakery food categories. We are committed to delivering high-quality products to the British public and our customers including major retailers like Aldi, Co-op and Marks & Spencer.

About the Role

2 Sisters Food Group is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Technical Training Manager to lead two critical functions within our supply chain governance framework: Supplier Assurance and Technical Training. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, labour compliance, and technical competence across our supply base and internal training programmes. The role provides independent oversight, strategic direction, and hands-on support where required, operating across a high-risk, fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Assurance & Labour Governance
    • Lead and manage the Supplier Assurance Team, including supplier auditors and administrative support.
    • Oversee the audit programme for high-risk suppliers, ensuring frequency, quality, and robustness of audits.
    • Shadow and support auditors in the field to maintain standards, drive continuous improvement, and prevent complacency.
    • Deputise for auditors when required due to holiday, sickness, or business need.
    • Manage supplier onboarding, including risk assessment, approval, and troubleshooting where issues arise.
    • Act as a key escalation point for supplier issues, corrective actions, and ongoing compliance concerns.
    • Provide governance and oversight of food safety, quality, and labour provision standards across the supply chain.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify emerging risks and support new supplier introductions.
  • Technical Training & Competency Management
    • Lead the Technical Training Team, including a remote trainer and training administrator.
    • Provide independent oversight of the Licence to Train programme and all business-wide technical training.
    • Ensure training content aligns with regulatory, food safety, and business requirements.
    • Review and manage the annual training calendar, ensuring relevance, coverage, and effectiveness.
    • Assess existing courses, introducing new training where required and removing outdated or low-value programmes.
    • Act as an escalation point for candidate issues, assessments, and exam board queries.
    • Build and manage relationships with external training providers and awarding bodies to support programme development.

About You

  • Proven experience in supplier assurance, auditing, technical compliance, or labour governance within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a regulated supply chain.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems, and labour provision risk.
  • Experience leading small, specialist teams, including remote staff.
  • Confident operating in both strategic and hands-on capacities.
  • Able to provide independent oversight while maintaining strong collaborative relationships.
  • Comfortable travelling to suppliers and operational sites as required.
  • Training delivery experience is not essential, but you must understand technical training frameworks and competency assurance.
