The Role
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team at 2 Sisters Food Group.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Group and statutory requirements, and supporting the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and SSC Coordinator, you will support the preparation of weekly and monthly accounting entries and reporting packages, alongside providing meaningful financial analysis and insight to support operational and commercial decision-making.
This is a varied role where you will take ownership of key financial processes, help strengthen the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and contribute to cost control and business improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly accounting entries and financial reporting packages.
- Complete overhead variance analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies and areas requiring further investigation.
- Undertake regular balance sheet reviews, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Support fixed asset reviews, reconciliations and verification processes.
- Assist with cost control activities, identifying opportunities for savings and improved financial performance.
- Support internal and external audits, providing relevant financial information and working alongside the Financial Controller.
- Provide high-quality financial analysis and insight to support effective operational and commercial decision-making.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in a financial accounting or management accounting role.
- A strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting processes and financial controls.
- Experience preparing month-end accounts, journals and financial reporting packages.
- Experience working with fixed assets and cost control processes would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to maintaining accurate financial records.
