About the Role
We are recruiting a Head of Health, Safety & Environment for the Boparan Manufacturing Group (BMG) division, home to leading brands including Bernard Matthews, Elkes Biscuits, and Roberts Bakeries. Acting as the functional lead across 9 sites, you will support site HSE teams and senior leadership in driving continuous improvement. The role is focused on enhancing safety culture, reducing risk, and ensuring strong environmental performance across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the delivery of Health, Safety & Environmental strategy across multiple sites
- Drive improvements to reduce accidents, incidents, and property risks
- Provide functional leadership to site-based HSE teams (indirect reports)
- Support sites with compliance, audits, and implementation of improvement plans
- Enhance environmental performance, including pollution prevention and regulatory compliance
About You
You are an experienced HSE leader with a strong track record in multi-site environments. You are confident operating at senior leadership level, while also engaging effectively with site teams. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach and are passionate about driving a positive safety culture and managing risk. You are comfortable influencing without direct authority and can build strong relationships across a complex stakeholder landscape.
Key Skills & Experience
- NEBOSH Diploma
- Relevant environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA Certificate or higher)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a multi-site HSE role
- Proven experience managing teams, including indirect reports
- Strong experience in risk management, compliance, and influencing senior stakeholders
