We currently have permanent opportunities for ACM Machine Minders to join our Portions teams in Willand, Devon. This post is working Days, Monday to Friday. The hours of work and shift patterns available are: 5:30am - 2:30pm (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), 5:30am - 1:30pm (Tuesday) at £14.69 per hour.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the input of chicken carcass across various modules of the ACM.
  • Ensure adjustments are made safely.
  • Doing the required paperwork.
  • Following procedures.
  • Checking product quality.

Product quality is everyone’s responsibility, and the highest standards of quality must be maintained throughout all stages of the manufacturing process. In your specific role this includes carrying out tasks in line with documented procedures and ensuring that the products that we produce meet customer specifications. You will consistently refer to the relevant customer specification sheets to ensure that the portions/products that are being packed are in accordance with the agreed weight and size parameters and that there are no visible quality issues with the product e.g. excessive bruising, poor cutting standards, bone fragments, or excess fat. You are responsible for identifying and reporting any product defects or deviations from specifications and removing those products from the line. This should also include a root-cause analysis to help identify what caused the quality issue. You will also coach others to ensure they fully understand and adhere to the relevant customer specification sheets.
