2 Sisters Food Group in Scunthorpe currently have vacancies for Despatch Support Crew within our busy Despatch Team. These opportunities are available on our rotating shift pattern: 06:00-14:30 Mon-Sat and 14:30-23:00 Mon-Fri. The Despatch Support Crew positions are hourly paid and attract a rate of £13.00 per hour.
About The Role
As part of the Despatch Crew your role will be varied in responsibility, typical duties will include:
- Prepare produced goods for dispatch and distribution, ensuring pallets are correctly wrapped.
- Weighing pallets to ensure they are packed to the correct weight requested by customer.
- Will be required to gas flush produce for the purpose of preservation (training will be provided within the role if required).
- Load and unload vehicles, checking consignments to ensure accuracy of loads, ensuring any discrepancies are recorded.
- Be willing to be trained to operate a forklift truck or electric palletiser (where role requires).
- Take delivery of goods and supplies, storing appropriately.
- Pick, scan and load products for despatch.
- Carry out stock takes as and when required, inputting data into a computerized system ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
About You
This position requires a responsible, mature and self-motivated person who is willing to be flexible at short notice. Knowledge of warehousing would be an advantage although not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.
Key Skills and requirements for this role are as follows:
- Have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work as part of a team but also under your own initiative.
- Keen to broaden existing skills and develop new ones.
- Good housekeeping is important as you will be expected to keep your work area clean and free from hazards.
