A homeless charity that supports adults and young people is looking for Support Workers to assist individuals staying within the hostels.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing homelessness, including advice on housing, employment, and welfare benefits.
  • Help clients develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and self-care, to promote independence.
  • Provide crisis intervention and safeguarding.
  • Support clients with budgeting, managing finances, and addressing debt or benefit issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
  • Conduct regular case reviews with the clients to ensure they are invested and working on gaining their independence.
  • Facilitate access to education, training, and employment opportunities for long-term stability.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Understanding of safeguarding.
  • Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service is desirable.
  • Driving license would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of housing and welfare legislation.
  • Crisis management.
  • Problem-solving skills.
