1to1 Group is partnering with the Royal Logistic Corps Charity in Winchester to recruit an experienced Finance Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial operations, governance, and strategic decision-making. We are seeking an individual with strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day finances of the charity and associated funds
  • Monitor income, expenditure, investments and reserves
  • Oversee cashflow, banking arrangements and financial controls
  • Maintain accurate financial records and audit trails
  • Ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements, accounting standards, HMRC regulations and relevant governance frameworks
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Act as a trusted adviser to trustees and senior stakeholders
  • Prepare financial reports and papers for trustee meetings
  • Develop forecasting models and management information
  • Assess the financial impact of new initiatives and projects
  • Oversee funding related to welfare initiatives, veteran support, sporting activities, heritage projects, events and other charitable programmes

Knowledge and Experience:

  • AAT qualified, part-qualified, qualified or chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience managing financial accounts, budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong knowledge of charity finance and governance requirements
  • Experience using financial ledger systems such as Sage
  • Experience working within the charity, public sector, military or not-for-profit environment
  • Experience presenting financial information to boards, trustees or senior leadership teams
