About the Role
This is a senior clinical position where you will take charge of the Special Care Unit, coordinating care delivery and staffing to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate neonatal care. You will work autonomously, lead by example, and play a key role in shaping high-quality, evidence-based care for newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Special Care Unit, ensuring safe staffing and high standards of care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for neonates with complex needs
- Act as nurse in charge and lead neonatal resuscitations (including out-of-hours)
- Stabilise premature and critically unwell babies prior to transfer where required
- Provide expert support, supervision, and mentorship to junior staff
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and UK-based services
- Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical records
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support training, induction, and ongoing development of colleagues

Requirements
- Registered Childrens Nurse or RGN (Child) with NMC registration
- Neonatal experience (post-registration)
- QIS and NLS qualified
- Experience managing complex neonatal cases
