1st Step Solutions are supporting a M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Project Manager to oversee a £13m project in Cambridge. You will need to have a proven track record in project management, particularly within the commercial sector or similar related projects with values between £10-£20 million.
Job Overview
Take ownership of the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of projects, ensuring timelines are met, costs are controlled, and client expectations are exceeded. Foster strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, while maintaining our clients commitment to health and safety, technical delivery, and team performance.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Always represent our client with professionalism and serve as the primary point of contact for your project.
- Participate in regular client and site meetings, ensuring clear and open communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely reports and updates, including monthly site progress reports and completion communications.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily site activities and subcontractor performance.
- Supervise teams and site staff, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring adherence to our clients Safety Strategy and site-specific RAMS.
- Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth.
- Ensure the project complies with our clients' processes and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Lead the procurement of labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors in line with the project programme and commercial goals, ensuring high-quality results and cost-efficiency.
- Provide regular updates on project costs for monthly financial reviews.
- Manage all aspects of installations, ensuring technical compliance and quality workmanship.
- Identify key construction milestones and ensure alignment with our clients work schedule.
Requirements
Minimum:
- Relevant qualification in Electrical or building services.
- Five+ years of experience in a relevant trade or project management role.
- Previous experience managing Electrical projects.
- SMSTS
- CSCS card
Desirable:
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Asbestos Awareness training.
