1ST Step Solutions are supporting a multi-discipline M&E company who have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis based in Romford.
Role Overview: Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor. This role involves managing the financial and contractual aspects of projects, supporting cost management, risk mitigation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
- Monitor project costs and provide timely financial reporting to management.
- Manage tender processes, including documentation, analysis, and contractor selection.
- Prepare valuations, variation orders, and contract claims.
- Conduct risk assessments and value engineering exercises to optimise costs.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety, and sustainability considerations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in M&E industry.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, and cost management procedures.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and construction-related software (e.g., CostX, BuildSoft).
