We are recruiting for a long-term project in Plymouth, which starts in early September '26.
Required:
- Mechanical Supervisor
- Sector/Industry: Mechanical Building Services
- Location: Plymouth (PL5)
- Duration: at least 2 years on this project, could be several more years.
- Self-employed: Pay rate (CIS): circa £325p/day but open to negotiation
- Permanent (PAYE): circa £60k + van (based on 45hrs p/w)
- Site Hours: 07.30-17.00
1st Project: new water mains installation (10” pipework, either in s/steel or concrete lined). Other projects to follow will include replacement pipework (Hot & Cold, Compressed Air & Steam).
Qualifications:
- CSCS card & SSSTS (2 day course, which can be completed online)
Key Responsibilities (Mechanical Supervisor/Mechanical Foreman):
- Supervise all mechanical works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors & direct workforce.
- Monitor progress and ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and health & safety requirements.
- Liaise with the site management team, engineers, and other trades.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Tool Box Talks.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong experience supervising commercial/industrial mechanical building services packages on work (Plant Rooms, Heating Systems on Offices, Schools etc).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Valid Trade related CSCS Card.
- SSSTS or SMSTS preferred.
