1st Step Solutions are supporting a leading Tier 1 M&E Contractor who is looking for a Mechanical Authorised Person to join their team on a project in Thetford. Due to the nature of the project, you will be required to be vetted for Security Clearance, so a clear criminal background will be required to successfully pass security.
Duties:
- Management of mechanical sub-contractor, planning works and providing reports on tasks undertaken.
- Diversion of services to allow construction works.
- Scheduled checks and maintenance actions on mechanical equipment.
- Managing contract works where necessary and providing reports.
- Issuing mechanical safety documentation where necessary.
- Mechanical testing and commissioning activities.
- Supervise works where necessary.
- Implement the relevant requirements of the Safety, Quality, Environmental and Operational within the areas of responsibility.
- Liaise with colleagues and supervisors on timeframe and labour requirement.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed as required.
- Ensure Outlook calendar is kept up to date.
- Reporting on a daily basis with site issues or progression.
Education/Skills:
- City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical qualification or equivalent.
- CSCS/ECS card.
- Appointed Person (AP) Certificate.
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- Previous experience as a Senior Authorised person or completed SAP duties.
- Previous experience on similar projects desirable.
- Good literacy skills.
- Proactive thinking with an enthusiastic character.
- Well organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent people management skills.
