1st Step Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical QA Supervisor/Manager to be based on a commercial project in West London.

Quality Control Duties:

  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to design.
  • Complete QA documentation including mark ups, snag sheets and installation checklists. Compile with sub-contractors QA and issue to main contractor for inspection.
  • Ensure close out of any client and consultant snags in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Prepare reports on MEP performance, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover documentation.

Supervision Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate all Mechanical and Plumbing works on-site.
  • Review MEP drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Monitor installation and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot on site coordination issues and provide solutions to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Lead and manage Mechanical subcontractors and site personnel.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Develop daily and weekly work plans in coordination with project managers and engineers.
  • Ensure sub-contractors have the correct availability of materials, tools, and equipment for MEP activities as programmed.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting or equivalent.
  • CSCS Skill Card.
  • SSSTS/SMSTS.
  • Good literacy skills.
  • Previous experience in a Mechanical QA Supervisory/Management role.
  • Previous experience of working on commercial projects.
