1st Step Solutions Ltd are working with a leading building services contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Services Quantity Surveyor (QSEE) to join their growing Design & Estimating team.
Location: Shrewsbury Head Office / Hybrid / Site Visits
Salary: Circa £55k to £63k package
This role will focus on preparing accurate, competitive electrical estimates for building services projects, supporting tenders from initial enquiry through to project handover.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed electrical take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Price labour, materials, and plant for tender submissions
- Build prelims, risk allowances, and value engineering options
- Issue RFQs and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Support procurement of M&E subcontract packages
- Draft tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions
- Work closely with estimators, designers, and commercial teams
- Ensure compliance with BS7671, CIBSE and industry standards
- 5+ years' experience in electrical estimating within building services
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (LV distribution, lighting, containment, controls)
- Experience producing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering / Building Services preferred
