Here at 1st Step Solutions, we are supporting a leading M&E Building Services specialist who are currently recruiting an Electrical and Mechanical Estimator to join their team based in their Nottingham Office. The company has been established 91 years, specialising in Commercial and Industrial Projects across Education, Healthcare, Defence and Hospitality sectors.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of commercial projects, preparing detailed proposals, and collaborating with the Project Management and sales team to ensure successful project delivery. To be successful in this role, you must have a knowledge and understanding of pre-construction planning processes, Design & Build (D&B) contracts and current CDM compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review and interpret tender documentation, specifications and electrical / mechanical drawings to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and requirements.
  • Identify and assess potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering options throughout the bid stage, recommending practical solutions.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality, competitive electrical and M&E tender packages, clearly outlining all assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate, timely, and cost-effective quotations to support detailed pricing.
