We are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to join our team on a part-time, fully remote basis. We are ideally looking for someone with strong accounts payable and purchase ledger experience, together with good attention to detail, clear communication skills and confidence using accounts systems.
Role Details- Location: Remote
- Hours: 4.5 hours per day, 5 days per week
- Working pattern: 10.00am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday
- Flexibility: We are happy to discuss some flexibility for the right candidate.
- Pay rate: £14.00 to £16.00 per hour, depending on experience
We will provide the equipment needed to carry out the role. This is a remote role, so applicants must have a suitable, quiet and professional place to work from home. Whilst this is a remote role, you must be located within a 30-minute commute of either Dartford or Basildon for training and logistical reasons. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, managing their own workload and communicating clearly with the wider team.
Key Responsibilities- Inputting and coding purchase ledger invoices and credits.
- Reconciling supplier statements, payments, expense accounts and credit cards.
- Resolving supplier, client and internal account queries.
- Creating supplier payment lists and matching purchase orders to invoices received.
- Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts.
- Following credit control procedures for outstanding accounts.
- Allocating cash receipts and sending out customer statements.
- Carrying out credit checks and maintaining credit limits where required.
- Keeping client statement spreadsheets and account records up to date.
- Supporting payroll with weekly timesheet input, timesheet checks and new starter or leaver set up when cover is required.
- Assisting with general accounts duties, year end preparation, audits and account reconciliations.
- Using Xero regularly, alongside Excel and Tempaid.
- Strong accounts payable and purchase ledger experience.
- Confident using Xero, or able to quickly pick up new finance systems.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Credit control experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident dealing with queries by email and phone.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage deadlines.
- Comfortable working remotely as part of a busy team.
- Experience using Tempaid or similar finance/payroll systems would be an advantage.
- £14.00 to £16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Fully remote working.
