Job Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of allocated projects, working closely with the operational and project teams to ensure successful delivery and strong commercial performance.

The successful candidate will be commercially aware, proactive and confident working with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual functions across allocated projects.
- Implement and maintain effective commercial procedures in accordance with company’s processes.
- Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment and agree applications with the client.
- Prepare, submit and agree contract variations and additional works.
- Identify and capture additional works outside the original contract scope.
- Manage and monitor project costs, profitability and commercial performance.
- Prepare monthly
CVRs, cost reports and cash-flow forecasts .
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and ensure these are recorded and managed appropriately.
- Provide commercial advice and support to the Project and Operations teams.
- Assist with the procurement of subcontract packages.
- Prepare subcontract orders and negotiate commercial terms.
- Review subcontractor applications for payment.
- Issue payment notices and payless notices in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Review, negotiate and agree subcontractor variations and final accounts.
- Prepare and agree the project final account with the client.
- Provide contractual and commercial support in relation to project delays and potential claims.
- Prepare contractual correspondence, including early warning and delay notices where required.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company’s commercial procedures.
- Attend project and commercial meetings with clients, subcontractors and the project team.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Provide accurate commercial reporting to the Commercial Manager and senior management team.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a
Quantity Surveyor within the M&E or building services sector.
- HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Experience managing project costs and commercial performance.
- Experience with applications for payment, variations, subcontract accounts and final accounts.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience working across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, fit-out, infrastructure or data centres.
Desirable
- Membership of RICS, CIOB or another relevant professional body.
- Experience with NEC3/NEC4 and JCT contract forms.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and commercial reporting.
