Required: Mechanical Project Manager (+ Senior Project Manager)
Location: 80% of the work within an hour of Bristol
Salary: £65k - £80k (depending on experience)
Positions Available: x4 roles across multiple Bristol-based companies
Role Overview: You will manage mechanical installation on commercial projects end-to-end from internal handover through to the release of final retentions ensuring delivery on time, to budget and at high quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project management of mechanical installation projects.
- Oversee and support site foremen and site staff, ensuring programme and quality control.
- Conduct regular site visits to check progress, workmanship, and H&S compliance.
- Manage procurement of materials, plant, subcontract packages with a focus on value and quality.
- Forecast, track, and control financial performance of projects; prepare financial reports.
- Produce progress reports for clients and directors.
- Ensure Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) are completed and followed.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues early.
- Support tendering, planning, programming, and pre-contract activities.
- Manage completion documentation (certification, testing records, O&M manuals) and defects post-handover.
Experience & Skills Required:
- HND or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Proven experience delivering mechanical projects from £100k to £15 million in value.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and related packages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and multitask.
- Leadership ability to motivate teams and manage performance.
- Commercial awareness with cost-control and forecasting competency.
- A proactive problem-solver with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid CSCS card essential; SMSTS or SSSTS desirable.
- Competent in Microsoft Office; experience with site/project tools (e.g., FieldWire, Aconex) advantageous.
