1st Staff are a leading nationwide provider supporting children and young people aged 4-25 with additional educational and therapeutic needs. We're looking for caring, confident tutors to deliver 1:1 Maths and English sessions to students with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD and other learning needs. What you'll do:
- Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Maths and English (Science opportunities available)
- Create engaging lesson plans tailored to each student
- Support learners with a range of needs and behaviours
- Track progress and provide regular feedback
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
Role details:
- Locations: Student's home, library, school or community venue
- Hours: Part‑time or full‑time (most referrals 10-15 hrs/week; full‑time available with multiple students)
- Contract: PAYE, zero‑hours
What we're looking for:
- Experience working with young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring etc.)
- Confidence supporting SEND/SEMH and challenging behaviours
- Strong communication, patience and empathy
- Ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles
