As a Security Dog Handler, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security on a busy construction site. This active, outdoor role requires vigilance, professionalism, and a proactive approach to ensure a secure environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Protect clients and their premises, providing a visible and effective security presence.
- Carry out regular patrols within the boundaries of the construction site.
- Communicate with clients professionally and effectively.
- Maintain thorough, up-to-date training records.
- Write comprehensive reports and keep detailed logs to ensure a smooth and secure operation.
- Location: Oxford (must be able to commute reliably).
- Pay: £13 per hour on a self-employed basis.
- Shifts: 12 hour night & day shifts Monday to Sunday on a 4 on 3 off roster pattern.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a security dog handler role.
- Qualifications:
- Essential: Frontline SIA Security License.
- Essential: L2 handler certification and GP dog qualified to recognised standards.
- Professional, smart appearance (uniform provided).
- Strong observational and reporting skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Proactive and communicative, with a focus on maintaining site safety.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency, equivalent to C2 or above on the CEFR scale.
- A full 5-year checkable employment history for BS7858 vetting.
- Must be fully aware of, and compliant with, the requirements of BS8517:2016 for security dogs.
- A BS8517-standard compliant vehicle for safe and comfortable dog transport, carrying all the necessary equipment specified in the standard, including first aid kits and a suitable dog cage.
- Self-contained living arrangements (for remote assignments) are preferred.
