An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career and join a highly respected cost management team in Birmingham. This is a business with an outstanding reputation in the built environment, delivering high-profile projects across multiple sectors and offering genuine long-term progression for driven individuals.
You will work closely with senior leaders across the business, gaining exposure to major projects, key clients and a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.
The OpportunityYou will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from inception through to completion, taking ownership of schemes and acting as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include:- Acting as the day-to-day lead and primary point of contact on projects
- Leading client-facing meetings and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams
- Producing feasibility estimates, cost plans and pre-tender estimates across various RIBA stages
- Advising clients on procurement strategy, risk management, value engineering and contract matters
- Preparing tender documentation, evaluating returns and reporting recommendations
- Managing project costs throughout construction and negotiating final accounts
- Preparing valuations, cost reports and post-contract variation assessments
- Supporting market testing, cost research and data analysis
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors
- RICS accredited degree or equivalent
- MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership
- Strong pre and post-contract experience
- Experience working with JCT contracts
- Familiarity with CostX, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence
