Job Title:Quality Control Inspector Electrical
Reports To:Quality and Performance Officer
Role Overview:
As the Quality Control Inspector Electrical, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality across all building-related projects. This includes responsive and cyclical maintenance, capital investment works, refurbishments, modernisation projects, and new-build developments.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Supervision:
Oversee the progress of construction and maintenance projects. Attend site and office meetings, issue instructions, and provide regular updates to the Contract Administrator/Supervising Officer. -
Quality Assurance Inspections:
Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Report any discrepancies, defects, or non-conforming work to the Contract Administrator/Supervising Officer. -
Health & Safety Compliance:
Evaluate on-site safety practices and ensure adherence to current Building Regulations and CDM (Construction Design and Management) requirements. Report any breaches promptly. -
Stakeholder Liaison:
Coordinate with colleagues across Property and Development, Housing Services, other Council departments, statutory bodies, and emergency services to gather essential contract-related information. -
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare written progress reports as required. Maintain a detailed site diary and ensure full compliance with the departments Quality Assurance Policy and administrative procedures. -
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed on relevant health and safety legislation, ensuring compliance within your area of control. -
Project Completion Inspections:
Conduct pre-practical completion and end-of-defects inspections. Prepare and manage snagging and back-snagging lists where needed. -
Customer Care & Feedback:
Promote high customer service standards. Regularly gather and review feedback from residents and frontline staff to improve service delivery. -
Additional Duties:
Undertake other responsibilities aligned with the scope and grade of the role as required. -
Policy Compliance:
Adhere to all relevant legislation, as well as policies and procedures.
