We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled SEN Teacher (Art Specialist) to join a welcoming and inclusive Cognition and Learning Unit within a well-established mainstream primary school. You will work with a small group of KS1 and KS2 pupils with cognition and learning needs, delivering highly personalised teaching in Maths, English, and Art.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning for pupils
  • Plan and deliver well-structured, differentiated lessons in Maths and English
  • Inspire and support pupils to develop confidence and creativity in Art
  • Enhance Art provision to support pupils with:
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Literacy difficulties
  • Social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Complex SEND profiles
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and leadership to support wider learning
  • The Successful Candidate Will Have:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable
    • Experience in SEN teaching at primary level
    • Confident delivering practical and engaging Art lessons
    • Able to create a positive, inclusive and well-structured learning environment
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
