We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Lead to join our team at our supported living service in the City of Redcar. Reporting to the Deputy Manager, the purpose of a Service Lead is to lead a cluster of support services that provide an agreed level of support to the people we support, helping them achieve their individual goals and lead full, productive lives as valued members of their community.

The Service Lead will be responsible for managing 2 supported living services and a small outreach service in the Manager's absence within Redcar. You will handle rota management, staff supervision, reviews with People we Support, support plan updates, risk assessments, medication audits, finance audits, and safeguarding procedures with support from the Manager.

We are seeking someone with creative experience to act as a role model for our staff teams and take responsibility for the day-to-day activities at the service. You will participate in and lead team meetings and service user reviews, ensure medication procedures are followed, activity timetables are maintained, and support is provided appropriately. You will undertake managerial responsibilities contributing to the overall management of our support services and support on shift when needed to meet the needs of the people we support.

Working hours are flexible, potentially including evenings and weekends. You will play a key role in assessing service users and developing Person Centred Plans, facilitating support worker participation in plan implementation. Flexibility in shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers, is essential. You will spend approximately 80% of your hours on shift and 20% on administrative tasks, with potential for 100% on-shift work depending on service needs.

Qualifications include Level 3 in health and social care; a driver's license is desirable. Experience in team leadership is advantageous. Essential experience includes:

  • Demonstrable experience working with people with learning disabilities in an enabling environment.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to Person Centred Care principles.
  • Knowledge of the needs of relevant service user groups (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Complex Care, Autism).
