Group Financial Accountant
Location: Knottingley, West Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Type: Full-time, Permanent

What You’ll Do
This is a key role ensuring successful delivery of all financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries, which will involve:
- Embed the organisational values of Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, and Achieving Excellence in everything you do
- Manage and develop two assistant accountants
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain the group\'s consolidated financial statements
- Produce quarterly VAT returns and provide internal VAT expertise
- Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly
- Support the annual audit and financial year-end process, including preparation of disclosure notes and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with charity accounting legislation, general accounting legislation, and applicable company and charity law
- Engage genuinely and responsively with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
- Collaborate with the wider finance team for daily operations
- Participate in financial and systems projects as appropriate
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with 3+ years PQE
- Strong technical background
- Experience managing a team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent numerical and Excel skills
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and statutory accounts
- Experience in a charity or social care organization is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
