Female Support Worker

Full time – 39 hours per week

Location: Edmondsley, Durham Area – DH7

Driver Required

£12.21 per hour

We are looking for Support Workers to join our dedicated team to help individuals live independent and fulfilling lives.

About us

Real Life Options is a registered charity experiencing growth, seeking permanent contracted Support Workers who want to make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support.

We deliver creative, dynamic, and person-centred services, providing individualized support to people living in shared supported living properties and in their own tenancies.

About the role

The service supports four tenants, three of whom have autism. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting adults with complex physical health needs and using alternative communication methods.

Health needs and challenges include:

  • Prada Willi
  • Autism
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Challenging behaviour

The Durham service is a small supported living setting in a rural area, five miles from Durham city, with some transport links into town.

A typical day:

Supporting individuals with daily activities, promoting choice and independence. Activities include personal care, finances, cooking, shopping, cleaning, and community participation such as walks, outings, arts and crafts, cinema, bowling, baking, and listening to music.

You will encourage active participation and enjoyment of activities both at home and in the community.

Shift patterns:

This role involves shift work, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and double shifts (flexible depending on availability). Shifts are typically from 10am-3pm or 10am-4pm.

An enhanced DBS check for both adults and children is required.
