This is a hands‑on leadership role with end‑to‑end ownership of the content lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the SEO and GEO content strategy to drive organic growth, visibility, and brand authority across multiple brands
- Lead end‑to‑end content planning and editorial direction, ensuring alignment with commercial goals and audience needs
- Oversee the full content lifecycle, including briefing, production, optimisation, governance, and quality control
- Build, manage, and scale a high‑performing freelance content network, including onboarding, performance management, and development
- Define and enforce tone of voice, editorial standards, and content quality frameworks across all channels and contributors
- Design and optimise scalable content workflows, including integration of LLM and GenAI tools with clear governance and best practices
- Oversee production and optimisation of high‑impact content, including long‑form and landing pages, ensuring clarity, authority, and conversion performance
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g. Digital PR agencies) to ensure aligned, high‑quality output
- Use SEO, AI discovery, and engagement data to inform strategy, identify opportunities, and continuously improve performance
- Translate complex topics into clear, authoritative content tailored to small business audiences
- Act as the senior editorial authority, ensuring consistency, quality, and best practice across all customer‑facing content, and manage a team of freelance content writers
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior content, editorial, or content strategy role
- Strong expertise in SEO‑led strategy and performance optimisation, with an understanding of GEO and AI‑driven search
- Experience managing and scaling freelance content teams
- Hands‑on experience integrating LLMs/GenAI into content workflows, with awareness of risks and best practices
- Strong editorial judgment and experience producing or editing high‑quality long‑form content
- Data‑driven mindset, using analytics and SEO tools to inform decisions and improve performance
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, authoritative content for business audiences
- Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Experience in B2B, financial services, legal, or small business sectors is a plus
- Strategic thinker comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels
What We Offer
- £70‑75k and comprehensive benefits package
- Hybrid working model
- Real opportunities for progression as the business scales
- The chance to influence both customer experience and product development
- A culture that values ownership, impact, and continuous learning
