The Role
HubSpot is core to how the business runs, spanning customer service, sales, retention, compliance and marketing. We're looking for someone who can both build on the platform and think strategically about it—writing custom code and integrations where standard configuration falls short, while keeping a clear view of HubSpot's evolving feature set to inform what we build next and why. This is a hands‑on technical role with a strategic edge, sitting within the Operations Team and working closely with the Director of Operations to turn business problems into HubSpot solutions, and HubSpot capability into business opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain custom code on HubSpot (workflow actions, serverless functions, custom objects) and API-based integrations with third‑party systems (e.g. identity verification, Companies House, billing)
- Own technical delivery of HubSpot projects end to end — scoping, build, testing, deployment
- Build and maintain integrations with other tools in the stack, ensuring data integrity and reliable sync
- Troubleshoot HubSpot workflows, automations and integrations, liaising with vendors and developers as needed
- Document all custom builds so solutions remain supportable beyond the original developer
Strategy & capability planning
- Maintain current knowledge of HubSpot's feature set across all Hubs and licensing tiers, including new/beta features
- Translate platform capability into practical opportunity, identifying where HubSpot can replace manual process or unlock new functionality
- Feed technical input into the HubSpot roadmap and advise on build vs. buy vs. configure decisions
- Track the wider HubSpot ecosystem (App Marketplace, partner integrations, AI features) and flag relevant developments
Collaboration & leadership
- Partner with the Director of Operations to align technical builds with the CI Programme and business priorities
- Act as the technical point of contact for HubSpot across Customer Service, Compliance, CoSec, Retention and Outbound Sales
- Manage relationships with HubSpot and third‑party development vendors, including scoping and reviewing delivery
- Mentor and direct junior technical/CRM resource as the role grows
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience building custom code on HubSpot (custom coded actions, serverless functions) and working with the HubSpot API
- Strong working knowledge of HubSpot CRM across multiple Hubs, including workflows, automation, custom objects and reporting
- Experience integrating HubSpot with third‑party systems via API or middleware
- Comfortable working independently to scope and deliver technical solutions, while keeping non-technical stakeholders informed in plain language
- Strong analytical mindset: able to assess a business problem and judge the right technical or platform‑led solution
- HubSpot certifications (e.g. CMS for Developers, Platform Consulting)
- Experience in a regulated, compliance‑heavy, or operations‑led environment
- Familiarity with identity verification or KYC tooling (e.g. Onfido)
- Exposure to Lean / continuous improvement methodology
- Front‑end development experience (JavaScript, HTML/CSS) for CMS or custom UI work
What We Offer
- £60-70k and comprehensive benefits package
- Hybrid working model
- Real opportunities for progression as the business scales
- The chance to influence both customer experience and product development
- A culture that values ownership, impact, and continuous learning
