About 1st Formations

At 1st Formations, we empower entrepreneurs to start, run, and grow their businesses with confidence. Running a business shouldn’t be slowed down by company formation, statutory compliance, accounting, or payroll. From day one, these essentials should be seamless, reliable, and intelligently handled — freeing founders to focus on building and scaling. We’re a leading UK provider of company formation and compliance services, building a modern, fully integrated technology platform that supports founders at every stage of their journey.

The Role

We are looking for Legal Content Writers to join the content team, focusing specifically on producing high‑quality articles. This role is dedicated to creating authoritative, engaging, and commercially relevant content across corporate, commercial, and employment law. You will research and produce blogs, guides, and thought leadership pieces aimed at UK business owners, founders, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and write clear, accurate, and engaging long‑form articles on topics including:
  • Corporate legal structures
  • Governance, equity and debt financing, and compliance
  • Commercial agreements (NDAs, supplier agreements, consultancy contracts)
  • Intellectual property and data protection (trademarks, licensing, policies)
  • Employment law, contracts, restructuring guidance (including TUPE), and HR policies
  • Produce thought leadership pieces on emerging and strategic topics (e.g., AI in the legal profession, business sale preparation, regulatory developments)
  • Translate technical legal principles into practical, business‑focused guidance
  • Ensure all content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with UK legal standards
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure subject‑matter accuracy and brand alignment
  • Incorporate SEO best practices where relevant, without compromising clarity or authority
  • Respond constructively to editorial feedback and deliver revisions promptly
  • Meet agreed deadlines and maintain consistent content quality
  • What We Are Looking For

    • Legal qualification (e.g., LLB, LPC, SQE, or equivalent) or demonstrable experience writing about UK corporate, commercial, or employment law
    • Strong understanding of UK legal frameworks affecting businesses
    • Proven ability to make complex legal concepts accessible and engaging for business owners and non‑lawyers
    • Excellent written English with exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong research, fact‑checking, and source‑validation skills
    • Experience writing for professional services, law firms, or B2B audiences preferred
    • Ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial relevance
    • Reliable, organised, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting
    • Familiarity with SEO principles is advantageous but not essential

    What We Offer

    • Remote role
    • Real opportunities for progression as the business scales
    • The chance to influence both customer experience and product development
    • A culture that values ownership, impact, and continuous learning
