The Role
Maybe you're part-way through your AAT or working towards your ACCA. You're good at the accounting side, but if you're honest, what you actually enjoy is helping other people understand it. You're the one your colleagues come to when they can't figure something out in Xero. You've run the client onboarding sessions. You've written the guides nobody else got round to writing. And you've started to wonder whether a career in practice is really what you want, or whether there's something that makes better use of what you're actually good at. This is that role.
We're partnering with Xero to power the accounting side of our newly created Accounting‑as‑a‑Service division, and we need someone to become our in‑house Cloud Accounting Specialist. You'll be responsible for making our internal teams confident and capable on Xero through structured training, video content, and documentation that scales. You'll receive dedicated training directly from Xero, and from there you'll own the platform internally. This isn't a stepping stone back into practice. It's a deliberate move into a training and enablement career, and we're looking for someone who's ready to make that call.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver structured Xero training for our internal team, including Onboarding Specialists, Customer Service, Customer Success, and Retention
- Create clear, accessible training materials tailored to non-accountants; guides, checklists, FAQs, and process documents
- Script and produce training videos to support self‑serve learning across the team
- Act as the first point of contact internally for Xero‑related questions and issues
- Build a library of scalable resources that reduce repetitive queries and support team independence
- Identify recurring gaps or questions and proactively create content to address them
- Deliver 1‑2‑1 Xero training sessions for premium or VIP clients where needed
- Monitor how the team is using Xero day‑to‑day and identify areas for improvement
- Stay current with Xero product updates and feed relevant changes back into training and documentation
What We’re Looking For
- Part-qualified accountant or bookkeeper with solid hands‑on Xero experience, gained within a chartered accounting firm
- You've been the go-to Xero person in your firm; onboarding clients, supporting colleagues, answering the questions nobody else could
- Confident explaining accounting concepts to people with no finance background
- Comfortable creating written content; guides, SOPs, training documents
- Interest in or experience with video production for training purposes
- Proactive and organised; you spot gaps and do something about them
- Ready to step away from a practice career path and build something different
What We Offer
- £34,000–£38,000 depending on experience
- Dedicated onboarding training from Xero
- A genuine opportunity to own something; this is a new division and a new role
- Hybrid working from our London office (3 days office; 2 days home)
- Real opportunities for progression as the business scales
- A culture that values ownership, impact, and continuous learning
