Category Manager - Technical Procurement (Electrical / Automation Focus) Location: Hybrid, Surrey

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Category Manager to join a global industry leader. This role offers the chance to combine technical procurement expertise with strategic influence, supporting innovative, large-scale operations in a dynamic international environment.
The Role
As Category Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering category strategies across technical spend areas, with a particular emphasis on electrical systems and automation. You will work closely with engineering and operational teams to deliver cost-effective, high-quality procurement solutions that drive performance and reliability.
This position requires strong commercial acumen, deep category knowledge, and the ability to build effective partnerships across a complex global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies focused on electrical and automation procurement
- Support new programmes innovative sourcing solutions
- Lead supplier engagement, contract negotiation, and performance management
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders to understand specifications and project requirements
- Drive cost optimisation, value creation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver spend analysis, demand forecasting, and cost modelling
- Manage cross-functional projects and stakeholder relationships globally
- Provide day-to-day procurement support within your category
About You
- Proven experience in technical procurement, and delivering category strategy ideally in a greenfield environment
- Skilled negotiator with excellent stakeholder management capabilities
- Commercially driven with a track record of delivering cost and value outcomes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrix environment
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or similar (desirable)
Additional Information
- Hybrid working model, initally 4 days per week on site
- Up to 25% international travel
