Interim HR Generalist - £235pd

Rate: £235 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Client: Major science-led organisation

Location: Hybrid and in Manchester

Duration: ASAP to end of October 2026

A complex, global Science-led organisation, are seeking a confident and commercially-aware HR Generalist, to join their dynamic UK HR team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be the "go-to" expert for line managers, tackling everything from employee relations to driving key people initiatives.

The role:

  • Act as first-line HR support for managers across multiple UK sites and provide expert guidance on employee relations matters (disciplinary, performance, absence, etc.).
  • Lead annual cycles such as performance management and compensation.
  • Manage HR activities within a modern HRIS (e.g. Workday), ensuring data accuracy.
  • Analyse HR data to identify trends and inform decisions.
  • Build the tools and reports that support meaningful improvement.
  • Shape and drive the implementation of HR policy and best practice.
  • Support delivery of strategic HR initiatives and transformation programmes.
  • Contribute to training and development activities across the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement, by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven HR generalist experience across a broad remit.
  • Strong employee relations expertise and solid knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience working with HR systems (Workday desirable).
  • A data-driven mindset, and confident analysing and interpreting HR metrics.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
