We're looking for an experienced Interim Contract & Supplier Manager to hit the ground running within a major utilities organisation, taking responsibility for a broad portfolio of operationally critical supplier relationships.
Your portfolio will span FM, Fleet, Meter Readings, Smart Meters, Professional Services, Consultancy and Debt Collection - offering exposure to a diverse range of commercial challenges, contracts and stakeholders.
This is a hands‑on interim assignment where you'll be expected to take ownership quickly, protect commercial value, manage supplier risk and drive measurable improvements in supplier performance.
The Assignment
Working closely with an established Contract & Supplier Management team, you'll provide immediate commercial expertise and ensure the effective management of key services contracts.
Key priorities will include:
Supplier Performance: Take ownership of key supplier relationships, driving accountability, service delivery and contractual compliance.
Commercial Value: Protect and maximise contract value through effective spend management, pricing controls, rebates and discounts.
Contract Management: Resolve contractual issues, negotiate variations and manage commercial terms to protect business interests.
Renewals & Extensions: Proactively manage contract lifecycles, including upcoming renewals, extensions and supplier exits.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial, contractual and operational supplier risks.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with operational teams and senior stakeholders to resolve challenges and deliver business‑critical outcomes.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an experienced contractor who can quickly establish credibility, work autonomously and deliver results.
Proven experience in Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management or Commercial Management, ideally across services categories.
Strong commercial awareness, negotiation capability and experience managing supplier performance.
Confidence challenging suppliers, resolving contractual issues and influencing stakeholders.
The ability to manage a varied portfolio, prioritise competing demands and deliver at pace.
Experience within Utilities, Infrastructure, Public Sector or other complex, regulated environments would be advantageous.
CIPS or WorldCC qualifications would be beneficial.
You don't need experience across every category. What's important is your ability to apply strong commercial and supplier management disciplines across a varied services portfolio.
