Are you an experienced Contract or Supplier Manager who knows how to get the best out of major outsourced service providers?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of high-profile, multi-million-pound service contracts sitting at the heart of a major UK organisation's customer operations.
We're looking for an experienced commercial professional who can combine strong contract management, supplier relationship management and stakeholder influence to challenge suppliers, improve performance and ensure major commercial relationships deliver what they promise.
The opportunity
You'll take commercial ownership of critical outsourced services supporting areas including customer contact, billing, complaints and debt collection.
This isn't a role for someone who simply administers contracts.
You’ll be expected to get under the skin of supplier performance, challenge constructively, protect the organisation's commercial position and drive continuous improvement across complex, business-critical relationships.
You’ll:
- Manage major service contracts across the full contract lifecycle
- Build effective relationships with large, strategic suppliers
- Establish and maintain robust supplier governance and performance management
- Challenge performance, cost and service delivery where required
- Manage contract variations and changes to commercial terms
- Ensure contractual mechanisms, pricing controls, rebates and discounts are correctly applied
- Identify commercial and contractual risk before it becomes an issue
- Lead difficult supplier conversations and act as a point of escalation
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure suppliers remain aligned with wider business objectives
- Develop proactive plans around contract extensions, renewals and close-outs
Who we're looking for
You’ll already have significant experience in Contract Management and/or Supplier Relationship Management.
Crucially, your background should be within services procurement / outsourced service contracts rather than predominantly goods, materials or capital projects. Industry background is less important than the complexity and scale of the supplier relationships you've managed.
You’ll need excellent commercial judgement and a strong understanding of contracts and contractual mechanisms - knowing where an issue is commercial, where it becomes legal, and how to structure and negotiate contract changes appropriately.
Personality is equally important.
We’re looking for someone tenacious, commercially minded and confident enough to challenge. You’ll be comfortable having difficult conversations with suppliers and senior stakeholders, while remaining diplomatic and focused on achieving the right outcome.
CIPS or WorldCC qualifications would be advantageous, alongside strong influencing, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Why consider it?
This is a highly visible role where the contracts you manage have a direct impact on customer experience and operational performance.
You’ll have genuine autonomy, exposure to complex commercial relationships and the opportunity to make a measurable difference to how strategic suppliers are managed.
All applicants must hold current and valid UK right to work.
