An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing food manufacturer as a Senior Buyer reporting to the SCD This role is looking after a spend of circa £35 million across raw materials and packaging The role would suit someone who is ambitious and loves what they do.
You will have full autonomy for the buying of the chilled and ambient division.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value improvements.
Source raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect products in line with production requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs, including quality, delivery, service, and cost.
Lead supplier review meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through effective supplier management and contingency planning.
Deliver annual cost savings and value projects Skills Experience Proven buying experience within the food industry ideally with some experience in Chilled.
Experience working for a food company who supply into retailers Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Strong Excel skills Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
