We're looking for an experienced Commercial Strategy Lead to join a high-profile government programme focused on shaping future commercial policy. This role sits at the heart of a strategic supply chain initiative. You'll take the findings from detailed value chain analysis and transform them into a clear, actionable commercial strategy, working closely with industry partners and senior stakeholders to drive the programme forward.
The Role:
- Developing and owning a high-level commercial strategy based on analytical insights.
- Leading engagement with industry to gather feedback and ensure collaborative strategy development.
- Managing project plans, timelines, risks and stakeholder expectations from inception through delivery.
- Providing clear recommendations and regular updates to senior leadership.
- Working across a broad commercial landscape rather than within a single procurement category.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will demonstrate strength in three key areas:
- Commercial strategy - able to think strategically and develop end-to-end commercial approaches, not just individual initiatives.
- Stakeholder management - confident engaging with industry partners and senior stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Project leadership - proven experience delivering complex projects, managing timelines and resolving issues proactively.
- Advantageous would be knowledge of supply chains or value chain analysis.
- Experience working with raw materials desirable.
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Previous experience working within commercial or procurement environments.
