Interim Category Manager - Science & Engineering
Are you an experienced Category Manager, with experience operating in a highly regulated environment?
We're looking for a strategic and commercially-minded Category Manager to support an established category management function and deliver end-to-end procurement activity within Science & Engineering categories.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting the existing Category Manager, managing supplier relationships and driving procurement activity from strategy through to completion.
You’ll need to be confident engaging stakeholders at all levels, working with suppliers and producing high-quality materials for supplier reviews and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the existing Category Manager with category management activity
- Run end-to-end procurements, from initial requirements through to contract award
- Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships
- Support category strategy and strategic procurement initiatives
- Engage with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
- Prepare packs, reports and materials for supplier reviews
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Work effectively within a highly regulated and controlled environment
- Use Microsoft Office 365 to produce professional documentation and reports
Requirements:
- 5+ years' category management experience
- Proven experience working within a highly regulated industry
- Demonstrable experience running end-to-end procurements
- Strategic procurement mindset
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
