Process Automation & Digitalisation Specialist - Supply Operations

Location: Manchester (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Rate: £30 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Client: Leading Science organisation

We're partnering with a global Science organisation undergoing a major Supply Operations transformation programme and looking for a Process Automation & Digitalisation Specialist to help shape smarter, more connected ways of working. This is an opportunity to combine technical capability with operational impact - designing automation solutions, building digital tools, and enabling teams to work faster, smarter, and with greater visibility across supply operations.

Role:

  • Designing and deploying automation solutions to reduce manual activity across operational processes
  • Building workflows for reporting, validation, exception management, document processing, and notifications
  • Supporting development of AI and analytics solutions to improve decision‑making and operational insight
  • Creating dashboards, prototypes, proof‑of‑concepts, and scalable digital tools
  • Integrating solutions with enterprise systems including ERP, planning, reporting, and collaboration platforms
  • Developing documentation, user guidance, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Partnering with operations and technology teams to translate business challenges into practical technical solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise, and continuously improve operational performance

Requirements:

  • Experience delivering process automation and digital solutions
  • Some exposure to AI / ML technologies, analytics tools, or intelligent automation
  • Data capability across SQL, Power BI, Excel automation, Databricks, or equivalent tools
  • Experience integrating systems using APIs and multiple data sources
  • Knowledge of ERP platforms (SAP experience highly beneficial)
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering in fast‑moving environments
  • Able to communicate technical solutions clearly to non‑technical stakeholders

Nice to Have:

  • Experience within supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or operational environments
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
