Client: Major Public Sector organisation
We're looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a major public-sector infrastructure and facilities management programme.
This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven procurement professional to take ownership of non-complex infrastructure, hard FM and lower-value works procurements, supporting high-profile programmes including canopy replacement, staff welfare and customer toilet works.
The Role
You'll manage procurement activity from strategy through to contract award, working closely with project teams, suppliers and key stakeholders to deliver compliant, commercially robust outcomes.
- Managing end-to-end procurement activities
- Developing procurement strategies and identifying appropriate routes to market
- Procuring non-complex infrastructure and hard FM works
- Supporting lower-value category works and delivery programmes
- Preparing and finalising procurement and contract documentation
- Managing tenders, clarifications and evaluations
- Coordinating evaluation and consensus meetings
- Supporting contract negotiation and formation
- Providing commercial and procurement advice to project teams
- Ensuring procurement activity meets governance and Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) requirements
- Managing multiple procurements and competing priorities
Requirements:
- Strong end-to-end procurement experience
- Good working knowledge of Procurement Act 2023
- Experience managing tenders and procurement exercises
- Contract formation and negotiation
- Procurement strategy and route-to-market development
- Understanding of commercial and contracting options
- Strong business partnering skills
- Confident communication across multiple stakeholder groups
- Ability to build effective relationships and provide clear commercial advice
- Advantageous would be experience with infrastructure or hard facilities management procurement
