I am currently recruiting for a highly commercial and rewarding public sector business who are looking for a commercial procurement manager.

The Commercial team provides specialist procurement and contract management advice across the business, ensuring that all compliance with procurement regulations, are met.

You will be responsible for leading on a range of procurement activities across the business in the corporate and professional services category. This includes but is not limited to vehicle hire, travel and accommodation, venue hire, legal services, HR services, research services, print/postal services, language services, office supplies, office furniture, health screening/support services.

The role may also be required to provide support to the IS and digital category team and may assume line manager responsibility.

  • Utilise knowledge of procurement legislation and commercial acumen to competently procure and assist with the management of contracts in the corporate and professional services category.
  • Lead and/or work closely with stakeholders to determine the optimum route to market, develop robust specifications and evaluation criteria for a range of requirements across the business. Draft tender and associated contract documents with a keen eye on detail, accuracy and presentation.
  • Provide solutions to issues as they arise, making recommendations and implementing changes to ensure that contracts continue to meet business needs.
  • Competently analyse and interpret management information on contracts, to inform contract management activity and to make appropriate recommendations on actions required, liaising with Commercial Leads, internal departments and suppliers as needed.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with internal and external suppliers

Based in Manchester 2 or 3 days in the office and the rest from home
