Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their procurement team in a fast-paced and varied role supporting the Facilities & Maintenance category. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to a diverse spend portfolio while developing their expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will support the Facilities & Maintenance Category Manager across categories totalling approximately £48 million in spend, including property, HVAC, fleet, waste, medical equipment, utilities, and water testing. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the role will focus on delivering cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality procurement solutions aligned to operational and business needs.
This role will initially support the Facilities & Maintenance category before transitioning in October to provide maternity cover within the wider Indirect Procurement team.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Category Manager across all Facilities & Maintenance spend categories
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Assist with supplier relationship management, KPI tracking, and quarterly review meetings
- Take ownership of smaller spend categories within the Facilities & Maintenance function
- Monitor contract renewals and support the implementation of a contracts register
- Analyse reporting data to ensure contract compliance and value realisation
- Support tender processes including preparation of ITT and RFI documentation
- Assist in managing procurement projects from specification through to contract award
- Maintain accurate supplier, contract, and catalogue data within ERP systems
- Support supplier and product rationalisation initiatives to drive efficiencies and savings
- Track procurement savings and quality improvements
- Use internal reporting and information management tools to support procurement activities
- Proven experience within a Buyer or Procurement role in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience in supplier relationship management and performance monitoring
- Exposure to tendering processes including ITT and RFI documentation
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practice
- Familiarity with ERP systems and eProcurement platforms
- Healthcare or clinical procurement experience would be advantageous
- Flexibility regarding working hours and location when required
- Ability to travel to the Borehamwood office and other locations as needed
- Willingness to attend occasional meetings or events outside standard working hours
